Here is part of that five-star award review:
Author Eileen Sheehan has crafted the perfect blend of paranormal, romance, mystery, and a touch of thriller in this really entertaining novel. It offers a unique take on the zombie genre, infusing it with compelling characters and a captivating storyline that gives it modern chick-lit overtones to keep the attitude fresh. Vickie is a strong and relatable heroine, and her personality comes across well through engaging dialogue and close attention to detail in her emotional narrative. The dynamics between her and the two alpha males who vie for her attention are both entertaining and steamy, offering a great deal for fans of romance, too. Sheehan's vivid imagination is on full display in this novel, and it's clear that she's created a world that readers can easily get lost in. Overall, Vickie is a lively novel that will keep you hooked from start to finish, offering a fresh and exciting twist on the supernatural.
Vickie: The Adventures of Vickie Anderson is not your typical zombie story. It was not what I expected, and I could not put it down. The creativity of Eileen Sheehan is amazing. She has created a world where zombies, witches, and vampires coexisted with humans, and it felt natural. With all the twists and turns, I never knew what would happen next and was guessing until the end. The characters were brilliant and unique, each with their own quirks and background stories. My favorite character was Vickie. She is strong and knows what she wants out of life. She accepted everything that was happening around her as if it were normal. The book was well-written and had my attention from the start.

We pick up in book 2 where we left off in book 1. While I liked Peter, as I learned more about him, I thought him to be a true dog. What happens to Elijah that Max, our ever trusty Sheriff, brings him to Vickie? My do things get truly interesting in Wolf Junction. After Peter goes back to Africa, what does Vickie figure out about herself? Especially after Max? What happens to Megan when Max and Vickie have to go downstairs to the autopsy room? There were a number of things that happened in this book that I did not expect. The heat really ratcheted up in several different ways in this book. Read and see! I cannot wait for book 3!!!
This was such a great book. The imagination of this author is astounding! This isn't your typical zombie book and I didnt really think it horror but everyone is different. As I said this is a different take on zombies but its also a great story. Vickie is a doctor who sets up in a new town as their new resident doctor since the old one passed. She rents a huge house which she runs her office out of as well as has some boarders turned friends staying with her. I dont know what else to say about this book that wont give away spoilers so I'll have to just leave it at that. This is a really great book with a strong heroin and two very hot alpha males who both want her. Add in some supernatural things like zombies, witches and vampires and this book is all you need for a lazy day of reading.
What kind of background does Vickie come up from? What part of the country is she from? Who is Peter Thomason? How does Vickie know him? What does he do? Who and what changes Vickie's mind on her course of educational paths? What was she looking at and what does she end up becoming? Where is Wolf Junction? What is happening there that causes Vickie to pick that place to go? Who is Angela McGraw? What does she do for a living? How does Vickie meet her? Who is Evan Ottenburg and what does he do? How does he meet Vickie? Who is Zacharias Bolt? What has happened to someone named Jacob? The next time that Vickie and Max meet up, things get a little more interesting. I could not help but to laugh. There are things that are mentioned in the book, and at about 1/4 of the way into the book, I've got some ideas about what may be going on. I guess I'll find out. On some things I thought, I was right, on others I was completely off the mark. I truly hope that Eileen writes a follow up to this book. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. Definitely a paranormal/romance/mystery with a bit of thriller thrown in.

I got this book via the author through Voracious Readers Only. This is the first time I have read this author. It was not what I expected. I could not put the book down. Twists and turns that you thought were going to happen but didn't. A very good book, and a must read.
This book is fun. It's a short and steamy story about a young but very serious doctor finding herself tossed into a world of all sorts of magical creatures. Not only zombies, but also vampires and witches - each with their own quirks and stories. I found the ending a little abrupt, after a lot of interesting build-up, but I guess it's good to leave the story wondering what will happen next.
